Adult Services
divider

Services for adults include:

  • Inner Peace Grief Support Groups are professionally facilitated and meet in several area communities (Please call for locations and times.)
  • Inner Peace newsletter is published monthly
  • Personal one on one contacts and support from Hospice of Salina staff and volunteers
  • Individual or family grief counseling

Grief affects all of our lives; it stresses personal relationships, friendships, and may cause poor attention and lost productivity at work. We are vulnerable to many health problems: headaches, stomach and colon problems, insomnia, depression, increased (or new) drug or alcohol use/abuse. These problems are multiplied if individuals do not find a healthy expression of their grief. We do not grieve unless we feel safe to do so.

Our initial encounter with grief usually determines how we will grieve throughout our lives. At different ages throughout our lives our needs are different. Hospice of Salina attempts to meet the varied needs of all age groups through age-specific activities and materials.

Eligibility for Service

Anyone who has experienced the death of a significant person and lives in the Hospice of Salina service area may receive care, whether or not they have previously received care from Hospice of Salina.

Cost of Service

No charge is made for these services. Donations are accepted since the Bereavement Program is entirely funded through donations and memorials.

See the events calendar for dates and times of support group meetings.
