Who is Eligible?

• Persons with a terminal illness and a life expectancy of 6 months or less.
• Persons who want treatment aimed to comfort instead of cure.
• Persons needing expert help to control pain or other symptoms.
• Persons living in Saline, Ellsworth, Lincoln, Ottawa and McPherson Counties.
• Persons with a *primary caregiver who accepts responsibility for day to day care.
• Persons whose doctor refers them to Hospice of Salina and continues caring for the patient and family throughout their time in Hospice of Salina care.
• If a patient has no doctor, the Hospice of Salina medical director will provide care.

Medicare, Medicaid and other insurance is billed for care whenever possible, but no one is refused admission to Hospice of Salina because of inability to pay.

* Primary caregiver can be someone at home or staff in a facility.
