Our staff is picked for their knowledge but most importantly their ability to have compassion and love for those they care for. They work as a team to provide the best possible care a patient and family can possibly have.

The first staff you will encounter after contacting Hospice will be our admissions nurse.

Bennie Salkil – Director
Bennie started with SRHC in Sept 2009 as the Director of Accreditation Services then quickly moved over to Hospice of Salina.

Bennie continues to lead Hospice in its goals for the community.
Kevin Norris M.D. – Medical Director
Dr. Norris did his undergraduate work at Kansas University where he studied Biology and later graduated KU in 1991. He did his residency in St. Paul, MN which was completed in 1994. He joined what would later become COMCARE in 1994 and was hired as Medical Director for Hospice of Salina in the same year. Dr. Norris resides in Salina with his family which includes his four children.

He is dedicated to the patients and their families who find themselves at Hospice often in difficult circumstances.
Tim Maguffee – Chaplain
Tim joined our hospice team and the SRHC Chaplaincy Department in 2014 after completing his clinical pastoral education residency at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City. He earned an undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Michigan-Flint (1981), a M.A. in Counseling at Ball State University (1984), and a M.Div. at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary (1999). Tim is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and has served churches in Kansas. He has also worked as a teacher and administrator in higher education and served in the U.S. Air Force. Tim enjoys helping patients and families through the grief process at End of Life and beyond. He resides in Salina with family.
